Privacy Policy

WatchPanda pairs a user-selected YouTube reaction video with an on-demand episode on a supported streaming service. This policy explains the information the extension handles to provide that feature.

Information handled on your device

WatchPanda handles only the information needed to synchronize the two players:

• The current Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, or Disney+ episode URL and an episode identifier derived from it.
• Ordinary player state, including playback time, duration, play, pause, seeking, readiness, playback speed, and visible ad state.
• The YouTube reaction URL you enter and the video identifier derived from it.
• A temporary image of the visible browser tab when you deliberately request timer reading.

On supported episode pages, WatchPanda stays dormant until you click its toolbar icon. Player observation begins only after that click and ends when you close the panel, leave the episode, or reload the page.

The selected YouTube reaction URL stays only in temporary extension memory while the current panel session is open. It is cleared when you close the panel, refresh the page, navigate away, or stop the extension. WatchPanda does not save it in Chrome storage.

Optional timer reading

Timer reading happens only after you deliberately choose Pause & read timer or Read timer. Before the first capture in each open panel, WatchPanda shows a one-picture notice and waits for you to choose Read timer. You can choose Type it myself to avoid capture. After consent, Chrome captures one image of the visible tab in memory. WatchPanda verifies the visible reaction panel, crops the image to that panel, and uses locally bundled OCR software to read the printed episode timer.

The image is not saved, uploaded, used for advertising, or reviewed by a person. It is discarded after that reading attempt, and the OCR document and worker are closed. Manual timer entry is always available instead.

Network connections and third parties

WatchPanda does not operate a backend, analytics service, advertising service, or user account system. The developer does not receive the episode URL, playback state, reaction URL, timer image, or OCR result.

To display the reaction selected by the user, the extension loads YouTube's embedded player. The browser therefore connects directly to YouTube and Google. Those services may receive standard connection information such as the IP address, browser and network information, cookies controlled by those services, and the supported streaming site's origin as the referrer. The full episode URL is not sent as the referrer. WatchPanda does not receive YouTube's connection data. YouTube and Google's handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies.

WatchPanda communicates with the supported streaming page already opened by the user to read ordinary player state and operate its normal play, pause, and seek controls. It does not read cookies, account credentials, DRM keys, or protected media bytes.

Sharing, selling, advertising, and human access

The developer does not collect, sell, share, or transfer user information. WatchPanda does not use information for personalized advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes, and no person is given access to user information through the extension.

WatchPanda's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Security and retention

Extension logic, OCR code, WebAssembly, and OCR language data are packaged with the extension. The extension does not download executable code. The current reaction URL and temporary timer images remain only in memory for their active session or reading attempt.

Your choices

• Type the visible timer instead of using screenshot-based timer reading.
• Close the panel or refresh the page to clear the current reaction link.
• Control the extension's site access through Chrome's extension settings.

Changes to this policy

If WatchPanda's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed practices are released.
